Your C-Platoon Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters responded Saturday, January 28, 2023 to their third dwelling fire in less than a week in the Township. This fire, on Maple Avenue, thankfully resulted in no injuries.

Cherry Hill Fire Department Rescue Ladder 13 Firefighter Jeff Marsden (pictured below center) was recognized in early January 2023 by the Barrington Police Department for his actions at a November 4, 2022 house fire. On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, your Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters responded to a report of a fire in the basement of a home on Chimney Lane in the Old Orchard neighborhood. Arriving firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the basement of the residence and quickly gained control of the fire. The home was occupied at the time and was determined to be accidental in nature. The fire is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Fire Department Fire Marshal. No injuries were reported.

Your A-Platoon Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters and HAZMAT Technicians from Ladder 1324, Engine 1352 and Squad/HAZMAT 13 responded Wednesday, January 25, 2023 to a piece of construction equipment on fire with various fluids needing to be contained at the site of the former Friendly's restaurant on Route 70 which was being demolished.

Your Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters from C-Platoon responded early Saturday morning, February 11, 2023 for a fire that spread to multiple balconies on a residential high rise at the Mark 70 Condominiums on Frontage Road. A rapid response and aggressive fire attack kept the flames from spreading into the interior of any apartment units. There were no reported injuries. Per the CHFD Fire Marshal's office, the fire was accidental in nature and attributed to improperly discarded smoking materials. C-Platoon Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters from USAR 13, Safety 13 (Captain Houck) and Chief 1302  (Assistant Chief Houlihan) responded on Friday, February 24, 2023 to Sea Isle City in Cape May County for a structural collapse of a large concrete balcony on the side of a mid-rise, oceanfront apartment building with a construction worker trapped. Rescue Company 13 operates with Cape May County as a part of the Southern New Jersey Regional Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Working Group. Last week, Cherry Hill Fire Department Squad 13, Squrt 1341, Battalion 13 along with Runnemede Fire Department Squad 7 and Engine 7 responded to the New Jersey Turnpike Southbound, mile marker 28.8 for a well involved vehicle carrier fire. The Lawnside Fire Department was also on standby for an additional water supply.

Your Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters from Engine 1352 C-Platoon responded via automatic aid Sunday, May 7, 2023 into Maple Shade for a reported fire at the Fox Meadow apartment complex. Engine 1352 arrived on scene moments after Mount Laurel Professional Fire Fighters IAFF Local 4408 members also responding via automatic aid, and found extremely heavy fire conditions with a report of people trapped. Firefighters pulled three residents from their burning apartment, but tragically, a 12 year old boy did not survive. All additional information will be released by local authorities.
