Your A-Platoon Cherry Hill Fire Department Professional Firefighters from Ladder 1324 responded Wednesday, March 29, 2023 via automatic aid into Collingswood to assist at the scene of a fire in a commercial occupancy. Your CHFD firefighters responded into surrounding communities via automatic aid three times on Wednesday alone, with responses into Collingswood, Maple Shade, and Voorhees.

Car fires are fortunately not an every day occurrence in Cherry HIll, but they do happen every day in the United States. The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) estimates that 33 cars catch on fire every hour someplace across the country! On Sunday, February 12, 2023, your A-Platoon Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters responded to I-295 northbound at mile marker 30.5 for a well-involved passenger vehicle. On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, the Cherry Hill Fire Department held a promotional/oath of office at Fire Headquarters. Congratulations to Sean Carlin on his promotion to Lieutenant and Steve Kinky on his promotion to Captain. Lt. Carlin joined the CHFD in 2016 graduating from the Recruit Academy Class 16-24. Cherry Hill Firefighters Battle Old Orchard Basement Fire

On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, your Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters responded to a report of a fire in the basement of a home on Chimney Lane in the Old Orchard neighborhood. Arriving firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the basement of the residence and quickly gained control of the fire. The home was occupied at the time and was determined to be accidental in nature. The fire is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Fire Department Fire Marshal. No injuries were reported.

Retirement of Firefighter Wesley Sohail

Your Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters announce the retirement of Firefighter Wesley Sohail. Wesley joined the CHFD in September 2017 after working in the Arlington County, VA Fire Department. Wesley was originally assigned to Engine 1322 before being transferred to Squrt 1341 where he finished his CHFD career. C-Platoon Firefighters Battle Fire on Multiple High-Rise Apartment Building Balconies

Your Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters from C-Platoon responded early Saturday morning, February 11, 2023 for a fire that spread to multiple balconies on a residential high rise at the Mark 70 Condominiums on Frontage Road. A rapid response and aggressive fire attack kept the flames from spreading into the interior of any apartment units. There were no reported injuries. Per the CHFD Fire Marshal's office, the fire was accidental in nature and attributed to improperly discarded smoking materials. C-Platoon Firefighters Respond to USAR Assignment in Sea Isle City

C-Platoon Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters from USAR 13, Safety 13 (Captain Houck) and Chief 1302  (Assistant Chief Houlihan) responded on Friday, February 24, 2023 to Sea Isle City in Cape May County for a structural collapse of a large concrete balcony on the side of a mid-rise, oceanfront apartment building with a construction worker trapped. Rescue Company 13 operates with Cape May County as a part of the Southern New Jersey Regional Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Working Group.
