Congratulations to Firefighter Bill "Schotzie" Schwarz who was as promoted to Lieutenant on July 19, 2025. Bill graduated from Fire Academy Class 17-25. His first firefighter assignment was to  Rescue Ladder 13 C Platoon until 2020 when he was transferred to Ladder 1324 on the A Platoon. Lieutenant Schwarz is certified as a Rescue Specialist and also serves as a Lead Recruit Academy Instructor, Lead Live Fire Instructor and Probationary Firefighter Mentor. He is part of the Cancer Prevention Committee, Live Fire Workgroup and is a co-host of the CHFD Podcast. Lieutenant Schwarz has a Bachelor of Science from New Jersey City University and is originally from Randolph, New Jersey. He was joined at the ceremony by his wife, Sara and parents, Bill and Stephanie Schwarz.
