Honoring the Legacy of Labor Day
Your Cherry Hill Professional Firefighters were honored to have representatives on hand, as well as be a sponsor, of the annual Peter J.McGuire Labor Day Observance and Scholarship Breakfast, a cherished South Jersey tradition hosted by the Southern New Jersey Central Labor Council.
This year's event held on Friday, September 4, 2026 in Collingswood united regional labor leaders, union members, and political representatives, including Governor Mikie Sherrill, to celebrate the rights of workers and the vital role of unions in the labor movement.
As we gathered to honor Peter J. McGuire, the “Father of Labor Day,” we reflected on the dedication and perseverance that have shaped the labor movement. His legacy reminds us that when workers unite, we are stronger together.
Our commitment as union firefighters extends beyond the firehouse; we stand in solidarity with all workers fighting for better working conditions and rights. This Labor Day, let us honor those who came before us and continue to build a brighter future for all!
